Learn About These Saints
To truly understand how St. Francis, St. Clare, and Saint Carlo Acutis are linked, we must look at them not as scattered historical figures, but as different branches of the exact same spiritual vine. Though 800 years separate the medieval friar and sister from the modern, tech-savvy teenager, they are united by a singular, unyielding devotion to Jesus Christ that transformed the very landscape of Assisi, Italy.
Archbishop Domenico Sorrentino, who serves as the Bishop Emeritus of Assisi and is the author of Carlo Acutis: In the Footsteps of Francis and Clare of Assisi, frequently emphasizes this precise spiritual inheritance. Their lives reveal a beautiful, multi-layered timeline of Catholic holiness.
